Alpha Omega

Some details about the latest Metaphorical painting

A new art piece nearing completion:

In ancient tradition, Alpha and Omega greek letters are the graphic symbols trying to give a more comprehensive notion of the mesure of the Divine. They represent both "ends" of unity and perfection. At least a temporary perfection waiting for the next step of evolution.

This painting depicts an archetypal human being. He stands in the middle of a curved road in the shape of a (conveniently) reversed Omega letter. Two arch like halves of the road are designed like metaphorical wings.

The Alpha letter is inscribed in the whole triangular shape of the human figure. The A letter is triangular in shape and the composition of the painting reproduces the proportions of the Great Pyramid of Kheops, the base being the lower edge of the canvas and the summital point in the middle of the egg. The proportions of the Great Pyramid are the mathematical and geometrical mesures of perfection. The human here is at the center of life. At left, a tamed tiger shows that man's inner beast has been vanquished. On the left a playfull dancing group expresses a state of dreamy forgetfulness that has also been left behind. Inner feelings and knowledge has taken all the place, the heart is full of good will. We could call this the coronation of the soul! This is why the bird nest has the shape of a corona, and the three birds are also symbolic, as well as the egg which is a perfect form despite being made of three different materials.

Unfinished "Alpha Omega" and the other paintings and details are featured in the Metaphorical Realism gallery.
