Battle at Dawn!

A study for a new painting: "Battle at Dawn".

Dawn is indeed a peacefull and meditative moment. On the other hand it is also a time where a battle takes place! The first sun rays are piercing through, conquering darkness and the coldest, darkest hour is being revived by a choir of birds.

But in the upper atmosphere of Earth even the boldest bird can't live for long. There, is the place for something else, a more subtle world. In this image, the watcher is made witness of a tremendous battle between light rays and dull fog, between the heralds of the sun and tenebrous entities. Let's see that these entities deprived of light are deriving their strength from all of the lower habits of humanity depicted here as red glowing city blazes. Mistrust, lies, violence, greed, egotism, all are choice meals for these tormentors of humanity. On the contrary, all the best living qualities are sent throught space from human hearts to help in the battle against stagnation. Let's not feed the devils, better not to keep them around us, like disgusting pets.
