A metaphore about how to soar and reach new heights.
Based on the statement that nothing worth is ever accomplished without a fiery effort, here is a sketch for a new painting called "Victory Crowned".
Not many things in life are more difficult and exhaustingly beautifull than ascending the highest mountain on your own. Alone and constantly on guard, the summit buster faces many dangers, and
eventually succeeds. Far up from the lowlands where other mortals breathe, he has prooved worthy of the summit, and from there enjoys a glimpse of the supermundane.
The crown of Victory is represented here metaphorically, by a column of giant cloud like flowers of a flamming color, as the sun rises on our right. All that is cold go down, but all that is hot
go up. So do these immense flowers of dream of the "Victory Crowned", that seem to soar from the rock, like clouds.
The same principle applies for the airborne balloons, which can only fly if the air it contains is hot enough.
